Deep in the forest, a tiny baby monkey, only two days old, rested quietly on a warm stone beneath the morning sun. Its mother had stepped a short distance away, leaving the fragile newborn alone for what seemed like a worrying moment.
The little baby looked around, making soft calls as it waited. But the mother was never far away. She watched carefully from nearby, keeping her eyes on her newborn while allowing it a little space.
At first, the scene appeared heartbreaking. Why would a mother leave such a young baby alone? Yet nature can sometimes be surprising. The mother may have been encouraging her little one to move, balance, and begin developing its natural abilities. She remained close enough to return whenever the baby needed her.
After a short while, the mother came back and gently pulled her baby close. The tiny monkey settled against her, safe and warm once again.
