The rain fell heavily through the forest, turning the ground into a muddy path. Under a large tree, a baby monkey huddled close to Old Jade, hoping to stay warm and dry.
Old Jade was tired and frightened by the storm. When the baby monkey kept pulling at his fur, Old Jade suddenly became angry and pushed the little one away. The baby slipped onto the wet ground and began crying softly.
A few moments later, Old Jade looked down and saw the baby trembling in the cold rain. His anger quickly disappeared, replaced by sadness and regret. He moved closer and gently lifted the baby into his arms.
The baby slowly stopped crying and held tightly onto Old Jade. Together, they moved beneath the thick branches of the tree, where the rain could not reach them as easily.
Old Jade stayed beside the baby until the storm passed, learning that even a moment of anger can cause deep pain.
